What Is L.A.R.A?

L.A.R.A. is a voluntary residents association that has been going since 1974. It is funded through charges to users of it's Community Centre, and receives a grant from Wandsworth Council. It undertakes it's own fund-raising.

It's Aims Are

To:

1. Run leisure, recreational and educational services for the residents of it's catchment area. 
2. Speak on behalf of the neighbourhood on matters of local concern. 
3. Encourage community spirit and co-operation. 
4. Continuously review L.A.R.A.'s provision and reach out to more people.

What Does L.A.R.A. Do?

It maintains a community centre from which it provides: 
1. A wide range of services and activities for people in the area. 
2. Services for under-fives, school age children and young people. 
3. Provision for older people. 
4. Advice service and legal aid sessions. 
5. Leisure and social events. 
6. A chance to have a say in local affairs. 
7. A chance to meet other people and take part in events. 
8. Produces a bi-monthly newsletter delivered to all local residents

It is for anyone interested in the local activities or issues, including: people who live in the Louvaine Area (Brussels Road, Cologne Road, East Hill Estate [Batholomew Close, East Hill Flats, Garrick Close, Nantes Close, Rochelle Close, Turenne Close], Elsynge Road, Harbut Road, Haydon Way, Louvaine Road, Marcilly Road, Oberstein Road, Pembrook Mews, Plough Road [to railway bridge]. Plough Terrace, St Johns Estate [Agnes Court, Florence House, Haydons Way, Hazel Court, Hilltop Court, Johnson Court, Lindon Court, Old Laundry], St Johns Hill Grove, & Sangora Road, Spencer Road, Strathblaine Road, and Vardens Road).
