Nelson Design was founded by Claire Nelson in 1992 after graduating from Istituto Par L'Arte E Il Ristaro.

Since then, the practice’s contemporary and gracious style has won numerous industry recognitions, such as being named one of the top ten Hospitality Design practices in 2008, as well as a number of prestigious residential and commercial interior design commissions, such as Chez Bruce at Wandsworth Common.

Nelson Design has thrived on St. John’s Hill, and has grown into a vibrant and enthusiastic team of designers offering a comfortable, yet bespoke and seamlessly integrated approach to contemporary living for the private client. The company philosophy is to avoid the prefabricated lifestyle. We assist and inspire clients to make their choices in furnishing and finishing their home to reflect their own unique personality and style. We practice an architectural approach to interiors to ensure visual interest and employ innovative lighting, luxurious materials and finishes to deliver stunning results. Careful attention to detail and the use of top quality craftsmen, artisans, and builders are all hallmarks of a Nelson Design project and enable us to consistently surpass clients’ expectations.

A full member of the British Interior Design Association, Nelson Design is a full service practice which works across a broad spectrum of budgets and delivers a fantastic range of projects. These include soft furnishings packages, new build projects as well as large, extensive refurbishments and the provision of turn-key solutions. We work on all aspects of a project, from obtaining planning permission through to project management. A testimony to the practical and personable way that Nelson Design functions is that many of the projects are repeat clients or private referrals.

The showroom/design studio on St. John’s Hill houses a small lifestyle shop, along with an extensive range of fabrics and wallpapers and a vast product library covering everyone’s design requirements.
