Sambrook’s Brewery is pleased to announce that they won an award at the prestigious World Beer Awards 2012. Wandle picked up Worlds Best Pale Bitterunder 5%!!
Duncan Sambrook said of the award; ‘Quality has always been at the heart of everything we do so it is wonderful that Wandle has won this award and it is fantastic that Cask Ale is now becoming more popular. We want to give people a chance to try a free pint of Wandle and raise a celebratory cheers with us at the Drafthouse Westbridge, which was the first pub to ever sell Wandle to the public in 2008. You can claim your free pint this Thursday between 6-9 pm.’

The award comes just as the Cask Ale report shows definitive growth in Cask Ale for the first time in the history of the Cask Report, in fact the first time in since the early 1990’s. The report also shows that 54% of people choose Cask Ale ‘because there is more variety and flavour than other mainstream beers’ and 37% choose it ‘because I want to consciously support a local business’. The report also shows that over a quarter of people who DON’T drink Cask Ale don’t know why they have never tried it. For those reasons we would like to offer a celebratory Pint of Wandle, on us, at the Drafthouse Westbridge as a way of saying thanks to the loyal customers who have drunk Wandle for some time and also to encourage people to try a trusted Cask Ale for the first time.
